Budgam Police Book Homestay Owner for Hiding Stay of Foreign National

Budgam, Dec 11: Budgam Police on Thursday booked the management of Rose Cottage Homestay/Guest House at Friends Enclave, Humhama, after routine inspections revealed that a foreign national had been accommodated without mandatory reporting to authorities.

During checks conducted by the Police Party of Police Post Humhama, it was found that the homestay had deliberately failed to submit the compulsory Form C, required for registering the stay of foreign nationals. Further verification on the IVFRT Form-C portal showed that the establishment was not registered with the Tourism Department, despite the legal requirement for hosting foreign guests.

Police have registered FIR No. 337/2025 under Sections 8 and 23(b) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025, at Police Station Budgam, and initiated an investigation into the violation.

Budgam Police urged all hotels, guest houses, homestays, and private accommodation providers to strictly comply with legal norms and ensure timely submission of Form C for every foreign guest. Form C serves as an official arrival report for foreign nationals and must be filled by any facility offering accommodation. (Agencies)
