    BSNL mobile tower torched in Tral

    Pulwama, Aug 29 : A mobile tower set up the state owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was torched by miscreants in 's Tral town of Pulwama district. Though it has not been ascertained who set the mobile tower on fire police have started investigation to nab the culprits.

    The affected mobile tower had been erected 8 years ago by the BSNL in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School Dadsara Tral. “Unidentified persons barged into the shelter room of the tower and set the machinery on fire during the dead of the night,” locals told.

    An official said that machinery and equipment worth lakhs have got badly damaged resulting in the disruption of communication system in the town.

    A police team arrived on the spot to assess the losses while a formal case has been registered against the unknown miscreants. “Investigation has been taken and all efforts are on to identify and nab the culprits,” said a police official.
