In an important update from the forested regions near Patnitop, officials from the Indian Army have disclosed that an encounter has broken out between security personnel and terrorists hiding within the Akar Forest vicinity.
The remote wooded location under the coverage of ongoing Operation Secure Surround (Op ASSAR) is reported to be the scene of an intense gun battle still unfolding. As per sources, the Indian Army and Special Operations Group of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have successfully engaged with terrorists and are exchanging heavy fire.
