BJP trio to review Kashmir’s political situation

, September 26 : The BJP has set up a committee of three top
party leaders, including the party president Amit Shah and Union Home
Minister, Rajnath Singh to discuss the situation with focus on
the possible cabinet reshuffle.

The two top leaders, Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh would be briefed
by Ram Madhav, who is in charge of J&K affairs, on the political
situation in the state with reference to the performance of the BJP
ministers. Reports said that the deadwood among the BJP ministers
would be dropped and some new faces may be included from the BJP.

The three-member team will not dish out a sermon on the PDP about its reshuffle of PDP ministers. The BJP team has left it to Mehbooba to redraw her new team because it is her job to pick up new
faces from the PDP in return Mehbooba will not interfere with the selection of BJP ministers. BJP president Amit Shah, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and some other party leaders including Ram Madhav and Ram Lal closeted for an hour-long meeting, where they are believed to have discussed issues related to Jammu and Kashmir They met at the home minister's residence after the BJP executive meeting here and is said to have reviewed the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

While the home minister visited Jammu and Kashmir a fortnight ago, BJP general secretary Madhav is party in-charge for the state.

During his visit, Singh had said the situation in the Valley has improved significantly over the past year and some “green shoots of peace are visible”.
He had also expressed willingness to meet every stakeholder to resolve long-standing issues.

The team will explore the possibility of reopening the channels of dialogue with the separatists in the light of a fresh offer for talks made by Molvi Umar Farooq, who leads a conglomerate of moderate separatists.  If the team clears the bilateral talks it may also try to rope in Syed Ali Shah Geelani who is not willing to hold talks with Government of .
