BJP leader expelled for ‘hate speech’

Date:

Tawi: Jammu and BJP Chief expelled senior leader Satish Bhargav for “hate speech” and “unparliamentary language” during an election meeting.

The meeting was held in Poonch district, part of the Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency where PDP's Mehbooba Mufti and Conference's Mian Altaf are contesting. Bhargav's expulsion was ordered on the recommendation of the party's disciplinary committee chairman, who cited a video of Bhargav making threatening and unparliamentary remarks.

Meanwhile, the PDP lodged a complaint alleging “intimidation tactics” by the BJP, accusing it of threatening Pahari Muslims to vote for the Apni Party candidate. The PDP has forwarded a video of Bhargav's speech and demanded an investigation into the matter.
