    BJP dissident Chander Mohan Sharma wooed back by party

    Jammu Tawi, September 27: In a sudden but surprising development, the BJP senior leader, Chander Mohan Sharma Advocate, who had resigned from the party on the issue of ‘unfair’ distribution of party tickets in Assembly polls, today wooed back by the party to its fold just before the final polling day.

    He was contesting as an Independent candidate and carried an aggressive campaign in the Jammu East Assembly constituency. The development has shocked many as he has managed to secure support of sizable sections of society and communities in the uptown Jammu.

    Amidst the BJP’s hyper election campaign, he was brought back to party fold on Friday by the party’s national general secretary and in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir, Tarun Chug. Reports said feelers were sent to Sharma by the BJP National President and Union Minister, JP Nadda persuading him to return to the party with assurance for his deserving place in the party.

    A video viral on the social media saw Tarun Chugh, the BJP’s national general secretary and Party Incharge of Jammu Kashmir suddenly emerging at an election rally organized by the supporters of Chander Mohan Sharma at Parade Ground, and appealed Sharma to return to the party at this crucial juncture when party needed his utmost support in the interest of Jammu Kashmir. Chugh was seen praising Sharma of his contribution to the party and assured for his dignified return to the party. He also assured that party would take cognizance of issues raised by him in a memorandum submitted to him pertaining to Jammu’s concerns.

    Later, in a subsequent simple party function, Chander Mohan Sharma with a large number of supporters, rejoined the party and welcomed by Tarun Chugh, Kavinder Gupta, Ex-Dy CM, Thakur Narain Singh and other senior party leaders.

    Chander Mohan Sharma, quoting his five decades long association with Jan Sangh and BJP, said that his joining is homecoming in the BJP in the best interests of Jammu.

    Tarun Chugh said that Chander Mohan Sharma has withdrawn his candidature and rejoined the party in the interest of the party, which is a good omen for the party.
