With the approval given by the Administrative Council to the revised schemes of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) besides new schemes designed to enrich the cultural fabric of the Union Territory, there comes a big responsibility to bring about the desired changes as envisaged by the helmsmen for these being vital to provide justice to different cultures and languages existing in the region.
It is for the first time that any dispensation has come out with such a broad spectrum to deliver rightful dues to the different languages and people of almost all hues residing in Jammu and Kashmir.
The major aspects of this endeavour are to provide seamless support to the local artists and sustain the vibrant cultural activities in J&K. Various changes which are likely to change the contours of work of JKAACL include publication of Sheeraza in Shina, Balti and Bhaderwahi languages also as earlier it was published in Dogri, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Pahari, Gojri and English.
The Academy's own theatrical productions will now be showcased across India, bringing local stories to a national arena. Besides, the traditional art forms such as Guri, Sugli, Daastan Goi, Pahari Baar, Gojri Baeth, Musadhe, Hafiz Nagma, etc will be revived under the new schemes and the Academy's musical programmes will now include performances of Sufiana and Indian Classical music, ensuring these genres continue to thrive.
There are several other initiatives in the pipeline to make this cultural body more vibrant and meaningful giving a platform to the local artists through number of benevolent sub schemes and incentives which may act as catalysts to inspire artist fraternity of the region to bring in more creativity and energy among them and in the newcomers to bring out momentous changes helping J&K to make phenomenal progress culturally while taking forward the legacy of being a multi-cultural and a pluralistic society for the progeny.
For sure, this comprehensive overhaul of the JKAACL's schemes would taken as the period of cultural renaissance ensuring that the region's rich heritage is both preserved and dynamically advanced for future generations.
