MUMBAI, Jan 19: Mumbai police announced the arrest of a 30-year-old man who allegedly stabbed Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence on Thursday. The man, identified as a Bangladeshi national who had changed his name to Bijoy Das, was apprehended in nearby Thane.
Initial investigations suggest the suspect entered the actor’s upscale Bandra apartment with intentions of theft, according to a senior police official. The attack took place around 2:30 AM on Thursday at Khan’s 12th-floor apartment in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building. The intruder repeatedly stabbed Khan before fleeing the scene.
Khan, 54, was quickly rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Doctors confirmed that he is recovering and could be discharged soon.
The shocking incident has raised concerns about security, the attacker’s motives, and the safety of public figures.
