SRINAGAR: Despite being in the government, BJP on Monday demanded that posts of the Pakistan army should be targeted to “teach them a lesson”.

As soon as the Legislative Assembly started its proceeding, BJP legislators stood of their seats and resorted to anti-Pakistan slogans and condemned the attack on the CRPF men on Saturday at Pampore.

“There has been rise in the militant attacks at the behest of Pakistan. There should be a thorough investigation into the killing of CRPF men at Pampore,” BJP members demanded. Eight CRPF men were killed by militants in an ambush at Pampore on Saturday in which 22 CRPF personnel also got injured. Two militants who attacked CRPF men were also killed.

Independent MLA, Sheikh Abdul Rashid confronted the BJP MLAs. “What are you demanding? It is you own government; investigate yourself, why are you saying it here.”

Rashid accused that rise in militancy was because of the “RSS government” in the state.

“Why don't you condemn those forces personnel who killed civilians of Handwara,” Rashid asked BJP Lawmakers.

BJP MLA Ravindar Raina asked the government to attack “posts of Pakistan army on the border. “Our security men are being continuously targeted. Attack the pickets of the Pakistan army so that they would stop targeting our security forces,” Raina said. Amid this, the BJP MLA were raising anti-Pakistan slogans.

As the PDP MLAs remained silent, the Opposition NC asked them to stop the BJP. “Stop your alliance partner,” the NC legislators asked the PDP.

They reminded government of Handwara killings and the report which is yet to be tabled in the house.
