    Amarnath Yatra | Fresh batch of 1873 pilgrims leave from jammu base camp

    , Aug 6: After a day long suspension of Yatra, a fresh batch of 1873 pilgrims chanting ‘Bam Bam Bhole' on Tuesday left for Shri Amarnath cave shrine from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp here.

    As many as 1873 pilgrims left only for Baltal in a fleet of 69 vehicles under tight security arrangements, while no pilgrim left for Pahalgam.
    The yatra was suspended on Monday due to security reasons in view of fifth anniversary of Article 370 abrogation.

    Last year, over 4.5 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave shrine.

    The 52-day long will conclude on August 19. (Agencies)
