    Amandeep elected as YLA President, Bhagirath Singh as VP

    Jammu Tawi: The elections for the Young Lawyers’ Association (YLA) of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh concluded successfully on Saturday, with Amandeep Sharma being elected as President. Bhagirath Singh was elected as Vice President, Saksham (Kanni) as General Secretary, Hitesh Koul as Joint Secretary, and Sushil Kumar as Treasurer.

    The polling took place at the Conference Hall of the Lawyers’ Chambers Complex in Jammu, with Advocate Rohit Sharma serving as the Returning Officer, under the supervision of Advocate Monish Chopra, Chairman of the Election and Scrutiny Committee, and Advocate S. Baldev Singh, Vice President of the J&K High Court Bar Association. A total of 790 registered voters were eligible to cast their ballots, and 649 votes were cast before the 4:00 pm deadline.

    Thirteen candidates competed for key positions, including President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Treasurer. The results were declared after the votes were counted at the Justice (Retd.) Vinod Kumar Gupta Memorial Bar Hall in the High Court Complex, under the oversight of Advocate Nirmal Kotwal, President of the J&K High Court Bar Association.

    Returning Officer Advocate Rohit Sharma expressed his gratitude to the outgoing office bearers, the Election Committee, the J&K High Court Bar Association, law enforcement, the media, and the voters for their cooperation in ensuring a smooth and fair election process.
