Another Chinese incursion on Indian soil

250 PLA troops stroll across border

Itanagar: In a recent incident, nearly 250 soldiers of the People's Liberation Army of China intruded into the territory of after crossing the Line of actual Control at Yangtze near Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on June 9.

As per reports, the soldiers stayed for three hours on this side of the border before going back to their side. As per Army officials, these incidents take place regularly due to differences in perception on the boundary.

According to sources, the transgression by the Chinese soldier took place at the time when India is trying to secure membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) which China has openly opposed citing India's non-accession to the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Though the incident was reported on March 8, there was a face-off between the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Chinese People's Liberation Army on March 11 as well.
