The attack was led by Lawmaker M Y Tarigami asking the government to clear it's stand on the controversial remarks. Talking to Speaker, Tarigami said, “India belongs to everyone.”

It is pertinent to mention that at a rally in Uttar Pradesh, Sadhvi Prachi had said, “The time has come to make Muslim Free India.”

Conference, Congress members joined by Er Rasheed and Hakeem Yasin, the lawmakers condemned the statement by Sadhvi Prachi.

To mollify the concerns of the opposition, Dy CM and BJP senior member, Dr Nirmal Singh, said, “India is a secular state; people from every community live here.”
