Fresh Advisory Issued for Amarnath Yatra; Pilgrims Asked to Follow Registration Schedule, Safety Norms

Srinagar, July 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Wednesday issued a fresh advisory for pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, urging them to strictly follow the prescribed registration process and safety guidelines to ensure a smooth, safe and well-organised pilgrimage.

The advisory said the daily cap on pilgrims remains in force in compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court. Devotees have been advised to complete advance registration before travelling to Jammu and Kashmir and undertake the pilgrimage only on the date mentioned in their registration permit.

The administration clarified that Tatkal (on-the-spot) registration is available only in limited numbers and is subject to availability. Pilgrims without confirmed registration have been asked not to proceed towards the Yatra route and instead wait for their allotted travel date.

It also stated that registered yatris will not be permitted to travel before their scheduled date, and reaching Jammu and Kashmir early will not entitle them to an earlier journey to the holy cave shrine. Unregistered pilgrims already present in the Union Territory have also been requested to cooperate with the authorities and await further instructions.

Reiterating that every registered pilgrim will be given an opportunity to undertake the pilgrimage as per the prescribed procedure and daily capacity, the administration urged devotees to maintain discipline, cooperate with officials on duty and adhere to all safety protocols.

The DIPR said public cooperation is crucial for ensuring a safe, peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, adding that strict adherence to the guidelines will facilitate smooth movement and effective management of the annual pilgrimage. (Agencies)
