IAF Officer’s Wife Alleges Rape, Blackmail, Forced Conversion; Two Arrested

NAGPUR, June 16: A 24-year-old woman, married to an officer of the Indian Air Force, has alleged that she was drugged, raped, blackmailed and pressured for religious conversion by three men in Nagpur, police said.

The case came to light after a video surfaced online showing the woman being physically restrained while religious verses were recited. In the footage, she is heard repeatedly pleading to be released, while an individual allegedly holds her during what is claimed to be a forced ritual.

According to police, the woman has named three accused in her complaint and alleged that she was first targeted in February 2025 after being contacted by a former classmate regarding a purported property deal. She claimed she was later invited to a hotel on Wardha Road, where she was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted while unconscious.

The complainant further alleged that obscene videos and photographs were recorded without her consent and later used to blackmail her. She has also claimed that she was forced to pay around ₹3.09 lakh under repeated threats.

Investigators said the woman has additionally alleged that on May 31 she was taken to Kalmeshwar, where rituals were conducted claiming her religious conversion, and that she was again subjected to an attempted sexual assault.

Police have arrested two accused in the case, while a search is underway for the third. Officials said multiple charges, including rape, extortion, and provisions under relevant laws related to forced conversion and black magic practices, have been invoked.

Authorities are also examining the video evidence and financial transactions cited in the complaint as part of the ongoing investigation. (Agencies)
