    Northlines Exclusive | Its official; JK Govt okays proposal for purchasing 200 more e-buses, rates finalized by CS

    Jammu Tawi, Feb 11: The Union Territory Level Steering Committee (UTLSC) meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary on Wednesday late evening has approved the purchasing of 200 hundred new e-buses for both Jammu and Srinagar under PM e-Bus Sewa for both capital cities of J&K.

     

     

     

    The UTLSC meeting also approved the rates for these 200 new e-buses as per their size. “The Chief Secretary has given his approval for purchasing 200 new e-buses for both capital cities, Jammu and Srinagar,” official sources informed the Northlines.

     

     

     

    The senior officers of both Jammu Smart City Limited and Srinagar Smart City participated in the meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, they said.

     

     

     

    It may be mentioned that already 200 e-buses, 100 each in Jammu and Srinagar, have already been operating in the J&K UT. The central government had sought requirement of mire e-buses from the J&K government under PM e-bus Sewa after which the J&K sent requirement of 200 more e-buses to cover all the uncovered routes of this UT.

     

     

     

    The J&K government has approved 25 number of 12 mtr e-buses for Jammu and 75 mtr e-buses with 7 mtr length. Similarly, 20 e-buses measuring 12 mtr and 80 e-buses and measuring 9 mtr have been approved by the J&K government, they said.

     

     

     

    A total of 200 e-buses were approved by the Chief Secretary for J&K in the meeting held today late evening, they said.

     

     

     

    Mother Sanction for Civil Depot infrastructure (CDI) component through SNA-SPARAH for funds amounting to Rs 14,05,00,000 as first tranche for 2 cities i.e Jammu and Srinagar, under PM e-bus Sewa Scheme through SNA-SPARSH platform has been issued by MoHUA.
