Traffic Restored on Mughal Road; Jammu–Srinagar Highway Remains Open

Jammu, Dec 30: Traffic movement on the Mughal Road was resumed on Tuesday after a temporary suspension due to adverse weather conditions, while the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway remained open for vehicular traffic, officials said.

The Mughal Road, which connects the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch with south Kashmir, had been closed as a precautionary measure in view of fog and weather-related concerns. Officials said traffic was allowed to resume after an improvement in conditions and clearance of the road stretch.

Authorities said necessary arrangements were put in place to ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles on the route, advising commuters to exercise caution, especially during early morning and evening hours.

Meanwhile, traffic on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was reported to be moving normally. Officials said the highway remains open for all types of vehicles, though travellers have been cautioned to remain alert due to foggy conditions in some stretches.

Motorists have been urged to follow traffic advisories, avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather and strictly adhere to safety guidelines to prevent accidents. [KNT]
