Social harmony and the doctors of our town

    By- Er. Rajesh Pathak

A book  “Dr Ambedkar aur samajik kranti ki yaatra” is written by the RSS pracharak and founder of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh , Dattopanta Thengri.  The book is in Marathi originally, later it was translated into Hindi by Shreedhar Paradkar, another prachark of RSS. In one place in the book  there comes a paragraph underscoring  the social-landscape of pre-independent India, that is : ‘ With the tendency of  protecting the self-interest in getting segregated that the  different castes in Hinduism is so badly ridden   as if each caste is a nation in itself.  Everybody should feel that in the success of any collective-venture is his success; and in unsuccess is his unsuccess.  It is this spirit only that tends to bind one into the national bond.  But casteism in Hindu-community works just against  this. It emerges as an obstacle in being a  one-nation, in building up self-esteem. (Page- 125)
So as to transform the things  mentioned above that the  RSS calls upon its swayamsewaks and entire country to work upon everything needful.  On the occasion of its ending of 100 years journey,  this year RSS is going to work upon  five works to be called ‘Pancha-Parivartan’. And one of  them is Samajik Samrasta  or Social harmony also ;  other being, Parayawaran Rakshan (Environment Protection), Pariwar Prabodhan (Family Enlightenment ), Nagarik Shishtachar ( Civic-Sense) and Swadeshi (Being conscious to the national-selfhood).  RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat says, all these five works are not  merely meant for preaching, but for  emulating them in one’s  own life first.  It is by adopting harmonious attitude that the community could be made free of casteism. Making visit at each other localities , at each other houses during festivals  could be the most easily  available occasions serving the purpose well.
What Mohan ji Bhagwat told an inspiring instance of that came to light in our city. In the Valmiki basti ( a locality resided prominently by Sanitary  workers’  families )  of our town was organized a Sahbhoj (All Community -Feast) this Navratri festival . Kannaya-bhoj (Girls specific feast to be organized in Navratri) was also a part of the event.  On this occasion the medical doctors of the town associated with Arogya Bharti organization also arrived in the venue .  Dr. Amit Modi, Dr. Gagan Namdev and their team first worshipped the girls sitting in a row ,  offered an amount of money as a gesture of respect and, lastly, touched the feet as a mark of seeking their blessings. Thereafter they all with those already there participated in Sahbhoj and had dinner together.
In such occasions if the participation  of some saint got to happen  this would make the rest of the people at large  learn what essential for social good so far left undone on their part. In the basti, more notably, Garaba dance was also organized for three days. In this event  Sehore based Kubreshwar-Dham’ s  Anatrrashtriya Katha Vachak  Pandit Pradeep Mishra arrived to grace the participants .  This soulful moment being there must have boosted up many folds  the faith among the residents that  entire Hindu-community is very much theirs’ own .
The Chief of Vishwa Hindu Parishad , Milind Paranday says, wielding the  weapons  is not only path for the  social-self protection .  Adding  a few things into  our social-behavior  meant for  social- consolidation could also drive us to a great result.
