JAMMU, Aug 18: Authorities on Monday halted all vehicular traffic on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) after shooting stones were reported at multiple locations.
Officials said the highway has been closed as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of commuters. “All types of vehicular movement have been stopped,” an official confirmed.
The region has been witnessing heavy rainfall, worsening conditions along the highway. Authorities have urged commuters to avoid travel until weather improves and clearance operations are completed.
