Jammu & Srinagar Feature Prominently, qualification Matric pass
New Delhi: In a major recruitment push, the Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has announced 4987 vacancies for the post of Security Assistant/Executive across its 37 Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs), giving special focus to Jammu and Srinagar with a combined total of 133 posts.
The online application process opened on July 26, 2025, and will continue until August 17, 2025. Aspirants can apply via the official websites www.mha.gov.in and www.ncs.gov.in.
The Jammu SIB has 75 vacancies, while Srinagar offers 58 posts. Candidates applying for these regions must possess domicile certificates of J&K and proficiency in at least one of the specified languages—Dogri, Kashmiri, Urdu, Gojri, or Hindi for Jammu, and Kashmiri or Pahari for Srinagar.
Eligible candidates must be 10th pass, aged 18 to 27 years, with relaxations applicable for reserved categories, ex-servicemen, and women under government rules. A desirable qualification includes field experience in intelligence work.
The recruitment will follow a three-tier selection process:
Tier-I: Online objective exam (100 marks)
Tier-II: Descriptive test on translation (50 marks)
Tier-III: Interview/personality test (50 marks)
Candidates must clear Tier-I to qualify for Tier-II, and Tier-II is qualifying in nature. Final selection will be based on combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-III.
Notably, Jammu and Srinagar also feature as examination centres, ensuring convenience for local candidates.
The pay scale is Level-3 of the 7th CPC (₹21,700–₹69,100) along with a 20% Special Security Allowance and holiday duty compensation.
