The issue of Pakistani drones entering Indian air space for surveillance, arms dropping and narcotics smuggling has become problematic as these kinds of activities have emerged as a serious security concern. This is surprising that despite historic defeat during the recent military action by Indian armed forces viz. Operation Sindoor, Pakistan is not mending its ways and continuing its old tactics to destabilize India by way of waging a proxy war. The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by Pakistan is a blatant violation of international rules having a potential to destabilize peace in the region. With each passing incident, the need for a befitting response becomes a necessity.
In the same context, reportedly the Samba police has recovered narcotics consignment weighing about 500 grams, dropped by a Pakistani drone from across the border at village Chillyari tehsil Rajpura, once again proving that the neighbouring country is unyielding and needs a befitting response for stopping such unscrupulous actions which in the long run will prove detrimental to the interests of India. It is a known fact that the proceeds of these narcotics consignments are being used to fuel terrorism in J&K and other parts of the country therefore it has become necessary for the concerned quarters to stop this wrongful activity by Pakistan to eliminate the terrorism from the soil of J&K and for that matter, the other parts of the country.
It is intriguing that when India has the capability to stop the intrusion in skies through drones, how come such consignments enter Indian space. There seems to be some gaps in the security loop along the borders giving a chance to rogue country Pakistan to give shape to its nefarious designs. This is something very serious and should be addressed with immediate effect as the country cannot afford to compromise its national security or risk the lives of its citizens and security personnel due to repeated acts of cross-border intrusion.
Going by Pakistan’s frequent attempts to dent India’s interests by misusing drone technology, it has become necessary that India should take a firm and uncompromising stand against these aerial intrusions by tightening border surveillance, upgrading anti-drone technology, and enhancing inter-agency coordination. All said and done, every possible measure must be taken to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and the lives of its citizens from this growing menace
