Jaipur/Delhi, June 25: Rajasthan Police’s Intelligence Wing has arrested a civilian employee at the Naval Headquarters in Delhi for allegedly leaking classified information to a Pakistani intelligence operative. The accused, Vishal Yadav, an Upper Division Clerk from Rewari district in Haryana, was taken into custody under the Official Secrets Act, 1923.
Following sustained surveillance by CID Intelligence Rajasthan, Yadav was found to be passing sensitive naval data to a Pakistani female handler, identified as Priya Sharma, through social media platforms.
According to Inspector General of Police (CID Security) Vishnukant Gupta, Yadav worked in the Directorate of Dockyard and was enticed with financial rewards in exchange for strategic information related to Indian naval operations.
Authorities say the arrest is part of a larger counter-espionage operation aimed at neutralizing threats to national security. Further investigations are underway to trace the extent of the data breach and uncover possible links in the spy network.
