Awareness prog on drug abuse organized

To curb the menace of drugs from society and to draw specific focus on the issue of Drug abuse in Youth especially, Doda Police organized an awareness programme on Drug abuse at Dak Bungalow Thathri. About 100 Youth/Students of Thathri town and its adjoining areas participated in this awareness campaign. Addl. SP Bhadarwah  Rajinder Singh, SDM Thathri  Mohd Anwar Bandey, BMO Thathri  Dr Sat lal Manhas, Inspr Sunil Sharma SHO P/S Thathri,  Drugs counsellor, Shri Baljeet Singh and prominent citizens of Thathri were present  on the occasion. During programme, Drug counsellor, Baljeet Singh from Police Deptt, Tehsildar, SDM Thathri  and Addl. SP Bhaderwah also addressed the participants about drug addiction and its effects on as well as on society.   They also urged upon the participants to co-operate and strengthen the hands of Police for curbing this menace. During programme,  brochure containing pictures and information about Drug abuse were distributed among the participants. At the end of programme participants thanked Doda Police for organising such programme. Later on Addl. SP Bhaderwah interacted with the students of various schools of the area and distributed some general knowledge quality books among 40 meritorious and needy students of the area. This is being done by Doda Police  on the initiative of Sh. Basant Rath DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range in order to aid and encourage the needy students. The locals have highly appreciated the role of police in spreading the awareness on drug abuse.
