Jaipur- The state of Rajasthan has unveiled ambitious plans to improve key infrastructure and boost economic growth, with the unveiling of the 2024-25 budget. Chief Minister Diya Kumari addressed the media and provided details on the various initiatives being undertaken.
A sizable allocation of Rs. 20,370 crores has been set aside for tackling water scarcity across the state. This includes completing six major projects under the Jal Jivan Mission to provide piped water connections to nearly 6,000 villages. The Amrut 2.0 scheme will also see water infrastructure upgrades in 185 urban localities over the next two years.
Solar power generation is being strongly promoted, with the target increased to a massive 33,600 MW. Rural transportation accessibility is a priority, with plans to introduce 500 new buses for state-run services in the next 24 months. This includes 300 electric vehicles to reduce emissions.
Road construction will see a massive Rs. 60,000 crore investment for new bypasses, highways and connectivity enhancements. Maintenance work valued at Rs. 9,000 crores will also be carried out. Nine ambitious expressways totaling over 2,750 km in length are in the pipeline to transform mobility across Rajasthan.
A slew of initiatives were announced to stimulate industry and job opportunities for youth. New policies aim to promote exports, MSMEs and provide access to financing under schemes such as “One District, One Product.” Over 4 lakh government positions are projected to be filled in the coming years.
Investments in healthcare, heritage preservation, waste management and smart city infrastructure were also highlighted. The budget provides a comprehensive roadmap for Rajasthan’s all-round sustainable development and progress over the next fiscal year. Citizens can look forward to significantly improved public services and quality of life.
