At minus 3.4 degree Celsius, Sgr records coldest night of season

Srinagar, Dec 05 (KNO): With persistent dry spell in and , the night temperature has plummeted further in the Valley while Srinagar has recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 3.4 degree Celsius.

Data available said that the minimum temperature at famous ski-resort, Gulmarg was recorded at minus 3.2 degree Celsius while Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a temperature of minus 2.7 degree Celsius.

The mercury in Kokernag settled at minus 1.4 degree Celsius while in Qazigund the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 3.4 degree Celsius.

As per the data, Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 3.4 degree Celsius. Pahalgam also recorded the lowest temperature at minus 4.4 degree Celsius.

Pertinently, the weatherman has predicted dry till December 8. The local Meteorological department has also predicted light snowfall during December 09 and 10.

The MeT had said that as per the forecast, there is a possibility of light snow over plains and lower reaches, light to moderate snow over middle and higher reaches during 9th December (evening) to 10th December (evening) particularly over north, northwestern, central parts of Kashmir & South Kashmir.
