New Delhi: Following attempts by some elements to spark communal tension through some social media posts, curfew has been imposed in Bhaderwah town of Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district reported news agency IANS. The army has also been called which conducted a flag march in the area as per a report. The police said that they are monitoring the situation closely and would initiate action against anyone violating law and order situation in the area. The communal tension broke out in the area following a purported video showing some miscreants threatening and instigating announcements being made from a mosque in Bhaderwah against the local minority.
Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has also been imposed in Ramban district as a precautionary measure, said the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban as per agencies report. “Appropriate action has been taken under the law and a case has been registered against the accused in Bhaderwah police station,” said a police source, quoted by news agency. “Those who take the law into their hands will not be spared,” the source added. It stated that security forces have been deployed in large numbers in the town, which has history of being communally sensitive.
A purported video showing instigating announcements being made from a mosque in Bhaderwah was posted by miscreants on the social media which is being said to trigger communal tension in the area, as per the news agency.
This incident comes just days after images of alleged vandalism at Lord Vasuki Nag Temple surfaced on social media earlier this week which had sparked protests at several places resulting in additional deployment of forces in sensitive areas as reported.
