152 assistive devices provided to 69 PwDs

RAMBAN, AUGUST 12:   Social Welfare Department  Ramban, in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Corporation of (ALIMCO), a public sector enterprise functioning under the control of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India,  today  organised a ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shivir' for providing aids and assistive devices to Divyangjans (differently-abled) under Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) scheme.

Chairperson, District Development Council, Dr. Shamshad Shan was the chief guest on the occasion.

The distribution camp was organized under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam at Employees Hostel Gool.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson said that the main objective of the government's ADIP Scheme, in operation since 1981, is to assist people in procuring assistive aid and appliances that can help in their socio-economic development.

A total 152  aids and appliances  were distributed by the Chairperson  among 69 beneficiaries which included Tricycles for Adults, Tricycles for Children, Wheelchairs Adult and Small, CP Chair, Hearing Aids, MSIED kits, Smart Canes,  Braille Kits, Crutches, Walking Sticks, Rolator Calippers, Artificial Limbs.

Tehsil Social Officer Ramban, Jamshida Akhter along with Nifat Ara coordinated the programme.
