New Delhi, May 9: The Government has appointed Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan as the next Chief of the Naval Staff, the Ministry of Defence announced on Friday. He will succeed Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, who is set to retire on May 31.
Vice Admiral Swaminathan is currently serving as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command. He brings nearly four decades of distinguished service in the Indian Navy.
The officer has held several key operational and strategic roles during his career, along with significant experience in personnel management.
His appointment comes as part of a routine leadership transition in the Navy’s top command. (Agencies)
