Titans take on Knight Riders in crucial IPL clash

Titans Look to Keep Playoff Hopes Alive Against Knight Riders

With their playoff hopes hanging by a thread, Gujarat Titans will be hoping for another inspirational performance when they take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad today. Titans currently find themselves in 8th position on the points table with 10 points from 12 games. They need to win their remaining matches and rely on other results going their way to stand a chance of qualifying.

It won't be an easy task however, as they come up against a strong Kolkata outfit who have already sealed their place in the playoffs. Knight Riders have been highly consistent this season thanks to contributions from all departments. Skipper Shreyas Iyer has led from the front with the bat while veterans like Sunil Narine and Andre Russell have delivered with both bat and ball.

When these two teams met earlier in the season, it was Titans who came out on top on both occasions. However, Kolkata will be confident of turning the tide in this match backed by their excellent recent form. The pitch in Ahmedabad is expected to be a balanced one, assisting both bat and ball. Dew may become a factor in the second innings too.

As for the playing elevens, Titans captain Shubman Gill has found form at a crucial time and will look to build on his recent century. Kolkata will continue to rely on Narine who has scored over 450 runs and bagged 15 wickets so far. Both sides possess match winners and it should make for an exciting contest between the top and bottom-placed teams on Monday evening.
