PM Narendra Modi will be a part of the Dussehra celebrations in Lucknow. PM was received by Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav at the airport.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Lucknow to participate in the Ram Leela event at Aishbagh.
The PM along with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik witnessed the ‘Ravan Vadh'.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, received the prime minister at the Lucknow airport. However, CM Akhilesh is expected to skip the Ram Leela event and is likely to designate a junior minister to attend the event.

The Uttar Pradesh CM has earlier stopped short of calling the visit politically motivated. “What can I say about anyone going anywhere? I guess of elections were happening in Bihar then Ravana would have been burnt there,” Singh had said.
The BJP however rejected such charges. “Ravan was the first terrorist and his effigy is burnt till this day… this is the feeling among countrymen and the Prime Minister is coming here to commemorate it,” siad BJP National Vice-President and Lucknow Mayor Dinesh Sharma.
Ahead of the visit, Lucknow has turned into a fortress with companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and Rapid Action Force (RAF) being pressed into service.
To welcome the PM , hoardings that read “Lucknow welcomes the avengers of Uri” have been put up at several places.Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister had greeted everyone on Dussehra. “Vijaya Dashami greetings to you all,” the PM tweeted.
