KISHTWAR, May 13: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested two alleged supporters of the Saifullah group for providing shelter and logistical support to foreign terrorists in the Singhpora area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district.
The arrests were made in connection with a case registered under FIR No. 03/2026 at Police Station Chatroo under provisions of the BNS, UAPA and the Arms Act, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Naresh Singh said that during a targeted operation, police apprehended Mashkoor Ahmed, a resident of Beighpora, Singhpora, and a teacher in the School Education Department, for facilitating a terrorist hideout in the area.
Earlier, another accused, Maneer Ahmed of Bandeyan Naidgam, was also arrested for similar offences, he said, adding that the investigation is ongoing to dismantle the entire network.
Police said the arrests have disrupted a key logistics chain supporting militant activities in the region and reaffirmed their zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism.
The force reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and security, asserting that strict action will continue against those aiding anti-national elements.
