Taimur’s caregiver talks pressures of navigating fame from a very young age

Since birth, Taimur Ali Khan has attracted significant media glare due to his famous parents Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. However, being chased relentlessly by the paparazzi from a young age came with its own share of stress, according to his caregiver Lalita Dsilva.

In a recent interview, Dsilva opened up about her experience of caring for Taimur during those early years of unprecedented public interest. She said there was immense pressure from both the public and the media who were always eager for a glimpse of the toddler. Photographers would constantly trail their car and residence hoping to catch the little one on camera.

This invasion of privacy deeply troubled Dsilva who felt the need to shield Taimur, then just a small child, from the unwanted attention for his safety and well-being. She had the challenging task of clearing the shutterbugs and preventing them from crowding the young star at a time when he needed a safe nurturing environment to grow.

Recalling the stressful period, Dsilva said she would regularly urge people not to chase Taimur and ask why they were obsessed with clicking pictures of children. It was a lot of pressure to constantly look out for potential risks to his security amidst the frenzy, admitted the caregiver of over 30 years experience.

Kareena had also earlier shared that the circus around Taimur led the toddler to curiously ask his parents why complete strangers felt entitled to intrude on his privacy at will. While the little star has now adjusted to the new normal, Dsilva’s reflections provide a window into how constant paparazzi pursuit impacts the psychological development of a child in his formative years.
