Taking into consideration the two cases of attempts to derail trains in the country, it has become imperative for the concerned security agencies to address the issue with utmost priority as the frequent bids are suggesting that elements inimical to peace have become active and wanted to derail the tranquility and destabilize the country politically and economically as well.
Reportedly, an attempt to derail a loaded goods train was made in Rajasthan's Ajmer district by putting two cement blocks on tracks of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor leading to train hitting the blocks between Saradhna and Bangad stations falling in the corridor's Phulera-Ahmedabad stretch.
Fortunately, no substantial damage was caused but it is a serious matter and a comprehensive security plan is the need of the time to stop things from going out of hands.
It is pertinent to mention that in a similar incident with mal-intention to derail the Bhiwani-Prayagraj Kalindi Express, the anti-national elements have placed an LPG cylinder along with a bottle of petrol and matchboxes on Railway track in Kanpur. Another such attempt was reported earlier to derail the Ahmedabad-Jodhpur Vande Bharat express in Rajasthan's Pali district making it clear that the issue is of grave concern and the concerned quarters cannot take things lightly.
It has become imperative to take all such cases with utter sincerity and do the needful to ensure that such anti-national elements cannot come close to the tracks by making them out of bound for all except the railways employees and other stakeholders. CCTV surveillance is also a good option although the cost escalation could act as a big bottleneck in making such changes.
All said and done, the concerned authorities cannot sit idle over this significant issue as the need of the time is to act and act fast to avoid any loss of lives or property at the hands of anti-nationals and anti-social elements as the threat is looming large with thousands of kilometers of railway tracks lying at the mercy of God.
