JAMMU, Oct 26: An army jawan was killed and eight others were injured after their vehicle turned turtle in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, officials said here on Saturday.
The Army said the accident took place when soldiers were on an operational move in Kulgam.
The accident took place late Friday at Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam.
Officials said an Army vehicle turned turtle at Damhal Hanjipora and claimed the life of a soldier while eight others were injured.
“The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment, and their condition is stated to be stable,” they said.
The identity of the deceased soldier could not be ascertained immediately.
In a post on X, Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said on October 25 night, during an operational move in Kulgam district, a vehicle of the Indian Army skidded and overturned.
“Tragically, one soldier lost his life, while a few soldiers sustained injuries and were promptly evacuated for medical care. All soldiers are stable,” the Army said.
