Jammu Tawi, Jan 30: JK Ex-Servicemen League President, Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma today called on Lt Governor of J&K during Martyrs Day Function in connection with brutal manhandling and thrashing of two ex-servicemen by SHO Bakshi Nagar on 13-14 Jan 2025.
According to a press release of JKESL, the LG Sinha jas assured fair inquiry of the incident and assured disciplinary action against SHO, if found guilty..
LG also called ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain and passed instructions to take action at the earliest. ADG apprised the LG that he has ordered another enquiry into the incident and assured expeditious and impartial action.
LG also asked President JKESL to withhold protest and dharna till the outcome of the enquiry.
Press release further said that In view of the above, the protest march and dharna at Maharaja Hari Singh Ji Statue on Tawi Bridge Jammu on 31 Jan is withheld.
“A review of the the situation will be carried out by JKESL after 3-4 days and if the Ex Servicemen Community is not satisfied with the action being taken against the erring SHO, a Maha Protest March & Dharna will be organised all over J&K(UT)”, the JKESL.
