School timings revised in J&K after stakeholder consultations: Sakina Itoo

Srinagar, July 12:  Education Minister Sakina Itoo announced on Saturday that school timings in Jammu and Kashmir have been revised following consultations with key stakeholders and education officials.

The decision came after discussions with directors from both Jammu and Kashmir regions and the secretary of the school education department, considering the current weather conditions and practical concerns.

“There was no possibility of extending the summer break for schools in Kashmir despite demand from various stakeholders,” Itoo said. She added that recent closures had already affected the academic schedule, and further delays would disrupt syllabus completion.

The minister emphasized the government’s effort to balance weather-related challenges with academic priorities, ensuring minimal disruption to learning. (KNO)
