Jammu Tawi, Dec 1: During a Satsang at Sungal Road, Akhnoor, today, Sahib Bandgi’s Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj addressed a gathering of devotees, offering profound spiritual insights. He began by sharing a reflection on the state of spiritual channels, mentioning that at one point, 724 Mahatmas were visible on Bhakti channels. However, over time, the market of Gurus had diminished as several prominent figures were involved in controversies, leading to a fall in the popularity of such spiritual channels.
He explained that in the present day, when one advises someone to seek guidance from a Guru, they often point to the mistakes and actions of others, rather than focusing on the true essence of spiritual teachings. In this context, Sahib Bandgi emphasized that the core message of spirituality—conquering the mind—was being overlooked.
Referencing the teachings of Vashishtha Muni, who had imparted wisdom to Lord Ram, Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj reminded the devotees that the mind must be conquered in order to attain the soul’s true essence. He stressed that this is the key message, which few modern-day spiritual leaders are emphasizing.
Sadguru Ji further explained that Vashishtha Muni’s discourse on the mind and the soul was central to the teachings of ancient scriptures, especially in Yoga Vashishtha. He elaborated on five main points that were spoken by Sahib in his teachings: the nature of the Param Purush (Supreme Being), the concept of Begumpura, the mind, Maya (illusion), and the power of the sacred name.
According to Sadguru Ji, the true name that leads to spiritual liberation is distinct from the many names known to the world. This name, which is living and sacred, can only be received from a complete Guru. He shared an anecdote about Dharam Das Ji, who, while chanting a name, was told by Sahib that the name he was referring to was secret and could not be attained without the guidance of a true Guru.
Sadguru Ji highlighted the immense power of the mind, comparing it to a banyan tree, vast and expansive, shaping the world and influencing even the greatest sages. However, he stressed that when the true name is received, the mind itself bows in submission.
In conclusion, Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj pointed out that despite millions chanting names, salvation cannot be attained through them. Only the secret name, passed on by the Sadguru, has the power to carry the soul to the immortal world, where it merges with the Param Purush, thus guiding the disciple to liberation. Without this name, no living being can cross the ocean of the world.
The Satsang concluded with a deep reflection on the significance of the secret name and the importance of a true Guru in guiding individuals towards spiritual enlightenment.
