Nagpur, Mar 19: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said the organisation needs to increase its activism on social media as its work continues to expand across sectors.
Speaking at the centenary event of Marathi newspaper Tarun Bharat in Nagpur, Bhagwat said social media, widely used by people, should be effectively utilised for constructive purposes.
He noted that while some content is already being shared through the RSS communication department and volunteers, there is a need to further strengthen presence on platforms where memes and reels dominate.
Bhagwat emphasised that bringing people together and transforming society go hand in hand, adding that committed volunteers contribute to broader social change through constructive work.
Highlighting organisational growth, he said the RSS is expanding and requires decentralisation to function efficiently, as public expectations and demand for volunteers have increased.
He also said the organisation is setting up a separate coordination mechanism to engage with government and administrative bodies, including a “pradesh-level” unit to address issues and streamline interaction. (Agencies)
