To expedite approval, JKPSC writes to GAD as Job aspirants suffer amid pervasive confusion

Srinagar, Apr 15: The implementation of new reservation rules for government recruitment in and is facing hurdles, potentially causing delays in the issuance of notifications for new job posts.

This development has raised concerns among the lakhs of candidates preparing for government in the region.

As per the inputs received by KNO news agency following the recent allocation of 10 percent reservation for the hill community in Jammu and Kashmir, new reservation rules have yet to be finalized for recruitment purposes. Until these rules are incorporated into the notification process for new job vacancies, the issuance of notifications will remain pending.

Sources within the dispensation divulged that both the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) and the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) have urged the General Administration Department to expedite the approval of these new rules to ensure timely recruitment examinations.

Despite the allocated reservation, neither the JKPSC nor the JKSSB have received the finalized reservation rules from the government. Consequently, these recruitment agencies have requested the inclusion of the new rules by sending the posts referred by various departments back to the General Administration Department.

Reports informed further that among the pending recruitments, the JKSSB is tasked with filling 4022 posts of police constables and 700 posts of Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) under the Home Department. Similarly, the JKPSC is also expected to experience delays in notifying new job posts. “Any further recruitment initiatives will only commence after the enforcement of the code of conduct. However, it's important to note that the new reservation rules will not be applicable to posts notified before March 15. Recruitment to these posts will proceed according to the pre-existing reservation rules,” a senior official privy to the development said.
