Srinagar, Sep 11: To provide a momentum to BJP's election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally in the heart of Srinagar next week.
BJP Media Incharge Kashmir Sajid Yousuf Shah, said that PM will address the mega public rally on September 19, at Sher-e-Kashmir Park, Srinagar. He said around 20,000 to 30,000 party workers are expected to attend the rally in Srinagar.
BJP has named party Mohmmad Anwar Khan as the Incharge for the Prime Minister's rally.
The BJP has never won a single seat in Kashmir although in the last assembly election held in 2014, it emerged as the single largest party in the Jammu region.
In 2014, the BJP contested assembly elections in more than 30 seats in the valley but failed to win even one.
In the upcoming assembly polls, being held after a gap of ten year, of the 47 seats in Kashmir it has fielded candidates in only 24 seats.
After the abrogation of Article 370, in the first local elections held in 2020, three BJP candidates won in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Kupwara districts in the valley.
