PM appealed to constitute Sanatan Board in Dharma Sansad

Prayagraj, Jan 27: An appeal was made to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to set up a Sanatan Board to protect Sanatan Dharma during the Dharma Sansad held in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh on Monday.

In the Dharma Sansad organised in Shanti Seva Shivir Sangam under the chairmanship of famous storyteller Devki Nandan Thakur, many saints advocated the formation of Sanatan Board and there was a discussion on abolishing the Waqf Board. The saints also demanded PM Modi to abolish the Places of Worship Act in the Parliament.

Thakur said, “We are also sending a memorandum to the government in this regard. The slogan given in the Dharma Sansad was ‘Sambhal, Mathura, Vishwanath, we will take all three together’. According to the Worship Act, the religious place which was or is in whatever form before August 15, 1947, will remain in the same form. It cannot be changed.”

The saints said that the Act proposes that a Sanatan Board will be formed for the protection of Hindu temples and properties in India. This board will be established as an independent body and will ensure the protection of the worship system in temples.

The four Shankaracharyas of the country will be appointed as the chief patrons.

Thakur said that there is no Hindu Board in Pakistan and Bangladesh then why is there a need for a Waqf Board in India.

“We have tolerated a lot, now we will not tolerate it anymore. We will take our rights,” he said.

On the boycott of Akharas, he said, “There was discussion among people that I want to become the President of Sanatan Board, that is why I am doing all this. Today I want to make it clear that I do not want any post or prestige. I swear that I did not want any post. I just want to protect Sanatan.”

Thakur also submitted an affidavit to Jagadguru Shreeji Maharaj and Jagadguru Vidya Bhaskar, in which he has reiterated that he will not take any post in the Sanatan Board. He said that first of all the Waqf Board declared the Kumbh Mela as its land.

“We are afraid that the Waqf Board may say that the whole of India is ours. What will happen to us that day? Which country will give us shelter? It is only India where Hindus can go. Now efforts are being made to give the whole of India to the Waqf Board. What is the Waqf Board doing in India?,” he questioned.

He said that this time the entire cabinet took a dip in the Sangam, this has not happened before.

“In the year 2013, the Samajwadi Party (SP) government had given the command of Kumbh to Azam Khan, who gave us 15 minutes. We say that you give it 15 minutes and see. Our Naga Sadhus are enough. Our Naga Sadhus will quench your desires,” he said.

He said that if the Waqf Board follows the rules, it will also be beneficial.

Thakur said that if a Sanatan Board is formed, a Gaushala (cowshed) will be built in every temple.

Jagadguru Raghavacharya said that the Sanatan Board should not be a government board.

“If it becomes a government board, it will have no meaning. There should be an Acharya on that board. Sanatan Dharma should be protected and promoted by that board. When the country was divided in the name of religion, all the Muslims went to Pakistan. The whole earth belongs to the followers of Sanatani religion. Today, wherever excavations are being done, evidence of our temples is being found,” he said.

Chinmayanand Bapu said that in the Maha Kumbh in which we are sitting, some fools have claimed the Waqf Board to be on that land as well.

“This Sanatan Board should have been formed long ago. When the country was divided, a big conspiracy was hatched. Those who had four, sent three to Pakistan and left one in India, so that the property remains in possession. When the Prime Minister made a rule regarding such properties in 2016, the non-Hindu people donated that property to the Waqf Board. In such situations, the Sanatan Board is necessary,” he said.

Nimbarka Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Acharya Shriram Shyamcharan Shriji Maharaj, Jagadguru Raghavacharya, Jagadguru Vallabhacharya, Mahant Raju Das, Sadhvi Prachi, Mahant Raju Das, Sadhvi Saraswati, Jagadguru Suryacharya and all other saints stressed on the formation of Sanatan Board.
