    Pakistan violates ceasefire in Poonch ahead of Independence Day

    Poonch: Pakistan is at it again as is on high alert in the wake of Independence Day!

    Just a day ahead of Independence Day, Pakistan violated the ceasefire in the wee hours of Sunday morning to which the Indian forces responded heavily.

    Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian side along the Line of Control in Shahpu Kandi area of the border Poonch district.

    No injuries or casualties have been reported so far and the gunbattle is under way.

    Attack on pilgrims

    The ceasefire violation comes hours after a grenade attack on Amarnath Yatra pilgrims in Poonch, where almost 15 people were injured.

    There have been 30 ceasefire violations by Pakistan on the Line of Control till July 31 with one casualty from the army side.
