Pak not India responsible for turmoil in J&K: Omar
Jammu Tawi, December 1 (KIP): If Omar Abdullah blames the centre and the state Government for their failure to reduce tension within the state and on the border he may not be right because despite the fact that India displayed its readiness for holding talks which was responded by increased ingress of militants and ceasefire violations. If there is tension on the border and within the state Pakistan should be held responsible. Though as opposition leader Omar Abdullah is supposed to berate the state and the centre for the ongoing tension on the border and within Jammu and Kashmir but he needs to be prepared for discussion. Omar Abdullah should know it that despite Washington goading Pakistan to hold talks in the interest of peace in the region Islamabad has not responded, so far, to the US Government's suggestion. This way it is neither India nor the Government in Jammu and Kashmir which can be held responsible for the turmoil. It is Islamabad that has been harping on the need for reopening channels of dialogue for discussion on Kashmir. And in another statement Omar Abdullah has said he was not responsible for the 2010 summer violence and turmoil and in the same way Mehbboba Mufti led Government cannot be held responsible for the current turmoil. There is no alternative to dialogue between India and Pakistan but Pakistan has to accept preconditions for talks laid down by India and as such Pakistan has to wind up all the arms training camps for militants, stop ingress of militants and ceasefire violations. If Islamabad does so India will be too glad to hold talks with Pakistan.
