No leave granted to minority employees in Kashmir after civilian killings, J&K govt clarifies

Date:

The administration of and rejected media reports on Sunday that it had extended a 10-day leave to employees from Kashmir's minority populations in the aftermath of recent civilian fatalities.

“Urgent Clarification: The govt has NOT issued any order for special leave. The news items appearing on web portals/newspapers and social media platforms are factually incorrect and misleading, ” a J&K government spokesman said.

Two teachers from the minority communities of the same school including a woman principal were shot dead inside the school premises in Srinagar's Eidgah area on Thursday. The killings came less than two days after three civilians including a prominent Kashmiri Pandit chemist and a non-local vendor were killed in Srinagar and Bandipora districts.
