Summer Flight Movement Schedule to be out by next week: Dir Airport
Srinagar, Mar 20: After a successful trial for the night flight operations by the Go-Air at the Srinagar International Airport, Indigo airlines on Saturday followed suit by operating a night flight from Srinagar—New Delhi.
Director Airport Santosh Dhoke told, “Today another successful trial flight was operated by Indigo Airlines from Srinagar Airport to New Delhi and there will be no trail flights as of now, now the summer flight movement schedule will be according to the DGCA which is expected to come by next week.”
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir PK Pole while speaking about the development told, the flights operated from the Srinagar Airport were trial flights before which the airlines seek approval from the DGCA.
“DGCA is going to revive the report and all the deliberations are to be made by DGCA if there is any intervention required. With that, the flight period is going to extend which will also result in an increase in flight movements at Srinagar Airport”, he told.
Earlier, after getting the approval from the DGCA for Trail Night Flights from Srinagar Airport, the safety teams of Go Air and Indigo Airlines had arrived in the valley to check out the feasibility while operating the Night Flight Operations from Srinagar Airport after which the report is also to be submitted to DGCA and approval from the DGCA is also expected to come in next week for summer Schedule flight operations at Srinagar Airport.
Commissioner Secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafeez said this is a positive development as far as the air connectivity between the valley and the rest of the country is concerned.
Pertinent to mention the flight operations at Srinagar Airport were the only day bound, and with the successful trial night flights from Srinagar Airport by Go Air and Indigo Airlines, the Summer Flight Schedule is expected to come by next week.
