New Delhi, Jan 4: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against two key shooters in the 2024 Neemrana hotel firing case, which is linked to Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dala, officials said on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Puneet and Narinder Lalli, were chargesheeted before a court in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Saturday under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). With this, a total of nine accused have so far been chargesheeted in the case.
According to the NIA, the Punjab-based shooters carried out the actual firing at the Highway King Hotel in Neemrana, Haryana, in September 2024. They were also involved in threatening the hotel owners and demanding extortion on behalf of the terrorist-gangster syndicate.
The agency said the attack was orchestrated by the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), led by designated terrorist Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala, in coordination with the Bambiah gang. Gang members Dinesh Gandhi and Saurabh Kataria allegedly planned the attack, which was executed by Puneet and Narinder under the protection of Dala and Gandhi.
During the investigation, the NIA found that the accused had used prohibited weapons and issued threats on behalf of the syndicate. The probe also revealed that the duo had been receiving funds, shelter and weapons on a sustained basis to further the objectives of the KTF, the agency alleged. (Agencies)
