New Delhi, Nov 12: Top sources have revealed that doctors Muzammil and Umar had conducted Recee of the Red Fort as part of a major terror plot. The module planned to target the Red Fort on January 26 (Republic Day) and was also planning an attack at a crowded place during Diwali.
“We have uncovered that he, along with the alleged suicide bomber Doctor Umar, conducted a recee of the Red Fort in the first week of January. This critical information was retrieved from the dump data of Doctor Muzammil’s phone,” said the source.
The revelations came as security agencies made significant breakthroughs in the “Doctor Terror Module” case, with fifteen individuals arrested and three detained in connection with the explosion outside the Red Fort on November 10 at 6:52 pm. All arrests were made by Jammu and Kashmir Police, and a total of 56 doctors have been questioned so far.
The investigation traces back to an objectionable poster containing threats to security forces, put up in the Nowgam Police Station area of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. A case was registered on October 19 in this regard.
The explosion outside the Red Fort on November 10 led to an FIR being lodged with the Kotwali Police Station of North Delhi. The FIR, seen by UNI News Agency, described the explosion as a bomb blast.
Investigation details reveal that Dr. Umar was in the moving i20 car where the explosion took place. Dr Umar was a wanted for the JK Police in connection with the ongoing matter.
Dr Umar spent approximately three hours at the parking of Red Fort Metro Station, during which he was in constant touch with someone. CCTV analysis shows the car was parked at 3:19 pm and exited the parking area three hours later at 6:48 PM, leaving at a time when the area was particularly crowded.
The probe in the matter (of Delhi blast) is now being handled by the NIA. The JK Police is also probing the matter. (UNI)
