Jammu Tawi: In a major crackdown against organized crime and drug trafficking, Jammu Police in Bishnah successfully apprehended three hardcore criminals in two separate cases. SP Headquarters took a press briefing regarding both cases which deal a significant blow to criminal networks operating in the region.
In a successful operation, the accused namely Amit Kumar S/o Swaran Lal R/o Sehora, having 6 FIRs against him for Attempt to Murder and Abduction in Bishnah was arrested. Police recovered 254 grams of heroin (chitta), 13 live cartridges, and one Beretta pistol (USA-made) from his possession. A Baleno car bearing registration number JK21G-3867 was also seized in the case.
In another case two accused persons, namely Lovely Singh and Swaran Singh, both residents of R.S. Pura, were arrested. During the operation, police seized one Thar vehicle bearing registration number JK02DJ-9906, 16 gm Heroin (Chitta) along with 06 mobile phones and ₹25,000 cash. The accused are also involved in serious offences including abduction and attempt to murder, and further investigation is underway to unearth their wider criminal links.
All accused have been booked under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is in progress to dismantle the entire network.
While briefing the media, SP Headquarters Jammu reiterated the firm commitment of Jammu Police towards zero tolerance against crime and drug menace. It was emphasized that the entire supply chain and criminal nexus will be identified and destroyed, and no individual involved will be spared.
The public has been urged to come forward and assist the police by sharing any information related to criminal or drug-related activities. Citizens are encouraged to dial 112 in case of any emergency.

SP Headquarters also appealed to the community that if anyone is struggling with drug addiction, they should be referred to nearby de-addiction centres for proper treatment and rehabilitation.
3 houses of drug peddlers demolished
Jammu Tawi: The administration on Thursday demolished three houses belonging to alleged drug peddlers here, officials said.
Amid heavy deployment of police and CRPF personnel, the authorities demolished structures allegedly built using proceeds from drug trafficking in the Rajiv Nagar area.
A senior official said the demolition drive is part of an ongoing campaign against notorious drug peddlers in the region.
“We conducted a similar drive here two to three months ago. Some more drug peddlers have since been identified, and they are currently absconding. The illegal structures constructed from money earned through the drug trade are being demolished today. Three structures are being razed,” the official told reporters here.
“Drug-related activities are harming our society and ruining our children. We want to engage our youth in sports and positive activities. This effort is part of our contribution towards the nation’s progress and development,” he said.
Officials reiterated that the administration will continue its action against drug networks and their assets in the region.
