    LoC Breaches Threaten Security

The cases of people from across the border crossing the Line of Control (LoC) quite often is something which cannot be viewed as a casual act because these could led to crucial security implications especially when Pakistan has waged a proxy war against India, and it never misses an opportunity to dent the interests of country’s people.

With people living on both sides of the LoC knowing it very well that going near this boundary line can prove dangerous as the vicinity is highly sensitive and militarily guarded, considering any crossing over attempt or successful infiltration with a thought that the same has been done inadvertently could prove dearly to the nation as it is difficult to digest that someone from the Pakistani side has crossed over to this side innocently.

The authorities in India should take any unauthorized movement near LoC very seriously whether the entity involved is a man, woman or an underage child because such incidents may not merely be individual actions but could also form part of a larger conspiracy aimed at undermining India’s security and strategic interests.

Taking into account the number of similar cases of infiltration, spying, and abetment of terrorism, any suspicious activity near LoC must be taken as very seriously as showing hurry in sending back the person who has been caught after crossing over the LoC could become a big mistake. Therefore, authorities must treat such incidents with utmost seriousness and ensure that strong deterrent measures are in place.

In this regard, another case of a young woman hailing from PoJK has come to fore as a lady has been apprehended by the Army in Balakote sector of Poonch district. The woman reportedly is a resident of Gimma village in Kotli district of PoJK. The woman was found intruding into this side of the LoC in Dabbi forward area of the Balakote sector.

Initial inputs suggested that she may have crossed the LoC following a family dispute. She is presently in the custody of the Army and will be handed over to the local police for further investigation.

The security agencies should take serious cognizance of such cases because her movement near LoC itself provides the adversaries the information about the status of security level by India along the LoC, which is a serious matter.

The Indian authorities should keep all such intruders in custody for long times as showing leniency over the fact that intruder is a lady or a child or physically challenged can prove detrimental for the security as what appears to be an inadvertent act can be a part of ploy to disrupt peace in the long run.
