LG Sinha dismisses 2 govt employees for alleged terror links

Srinagar, Aug 22: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday dismissed two government employees from service over alleged involvement in terror activities, officials said.

The action was taken under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution, which allows dismissal without an inquiry in the interest of national security.

The employees were identified as Siyad Ahmad Khan, an Assistant Stockman in the Sheep Husbandry Department from Keran, and Khurshid Ahmad Rather, a school teacher from Karnah — both residents of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Officials said the Lieutenant Governor was satisfied, after reviewing the available information, that the activities of the two warranted immediate termination.(Agencies)
